Domestic Papers is my Etsy shop where I sell my beautiful handmade books. Each archival-quality book I create is stitched by hand by me in my studio in Houston’s East End. My longstitch journals are popular with writers of all ages for their uniqueness and the quality of the materials. Some have lined paper, some have blank or mixed pages, and larger sketch journals feature acid-free sketchbook paper. Most of my handmade books have a Vintage Vibe- incorporating images from antique postcards and paper ephemera and reproducing old maps from my own collection to make travel journals. I re-purpose library discards from the Friends of Houston Public Library into useful, one-of-a-kind notebooks and journals, giving their original cover graphics or illustrations a new audience. I have sold very well the last three years at the Houston Indie Book Festival (MenilFest) in Houston. You can see my newest handmade books at www.domesticpapers.etsy.com or find the Domestic Papers page on Facebook.
A small, socially conscious press specializing in Texas regional books – cooking, travel and humor. A port of the proceeds is donated to such non-profit groups as Habitat for Humanity, the North Fort Worth Historical Society, Big Bend Educational Foundation and Texas Dance Hall Preservation Inc. Every effort is made to engage writers, editors, photographers, designers and illustrators who have been forced to leave daily newspaper work because of the industry crisis.
Texas Authors Inc. is the parent not-for-profit organization that supports and markets Texas Authors and their books. We do this through our educational programs, museum and continuing outreach.

The Tyler Chronicles I and II reflect the character and personalities of the people of Tyler, Texas. These profiles are brief glimpses into the lives of a select few members of our wonderful community. It is the record of a current moment in time, however, and the individuals profiled in these pages represent the city at large. The people described in these pages are typical of the kind of people found throughout the community. It is the people – their generosity, compassion and strong ethical character that make Tyler the unique place it is. Some of the content of this book originally found publication in the pages of Tyler Today magazine. Since 1989, Tyler’s oldest and only city magazine presented these and other stories about the people and events of Tyler. The goal of the magazine is to preserve the history of Tyler, to share insights from its citizenry and to celebrate the accomplishments of ordinary people living in extraordinary times. Some of the people chronicled are well-known. Others are simply our neighbors. Many of these glimpses behind our neighbor’s closed doors are filled with the poignancy of private battles. Some make us think. Some makes up shed a tear or laugh aloud. All of the stories presented here are the observations as chronicled by Robert Marlin.
